THE BMW Motorrad unveiled the G310R simply a few days before the EICMA 2015. This kind of is the first motorbike that has been developed under BMW-TVS alliance, which was formed couple of years back.
BMW wanted their new small capacity motorcycle to have a design that should go with their complete product portfolio. And for the same reason, the G310R has design elements from the S1000RR and the R1200R. In the beginning look, the G310R doesn't look very attractive but the design grows on you.
Talking about its mechanicals, the G310R is run by a 313cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine. This engine churns out 34bhp at 9500rpm and has a peak torque of 28Nm at 7500rpm. It is mated to a 6 speed gearbox. The German maker claims a top velocity of 145kmph and gas efficiency of 36. 05kmpl. However, real life numbers will be different from the claimed ones.
When ever it comes to features, BMW has loaded the G310R with a 41mm upside-down fork at the front and monoshock with adjustable preload at the rear. Two-channel ABS comes as standard with this bike. The braking electric power on the bike is taken care of by a 300mm single-disc with radially bolted four-piston caliper at the front and a 240mm two-piston caliper at the rear. The bike has a kerb weight of 158kgs, which is quite good for a motorcycle in this segment. The bike tours on 110/70 R17 tires in the leading and 150/60 R17 at the rear end. With a fuel container capacity of 11 lt, the bike can be ridden for approximately 330kms before stopping at a fuel station.
BMW Motorrad hasn't mentioned about the exact global launch time of the G310R, but we are expecting it to happen at the beginning of 2016. The G310R will be created by TVS at their Hosur facility increase in released worldwide. The bike will also be launched in India, once the In german manufacturer creates operations. We all are expecting the THE BMW G310R to cost between Rs 2 lakh and Rs 2. 4 lakh.
